An excess is the amount that you have to pay in the event of a claim on your motor insurance policy. So, for example, if you have an excess of £500 on your car insurance and you have a claim for £1,500, you will have to pay £500 towards the cost of the repairs.
Motor vehicle excess protection provides cover for your Excess under your Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy following the successful settlement of a claim in respect of your car.
